| Frequently Asked
Questions |
| Q: Where is FishYak located ?
| A: We are in the Perth suburb of Wangarra, approximately 20 km North of the CBD.
| Q: What are your opening times ?
| A: Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.30 pm, Saturday 9.00 am to 2.00 pm.
| Q: I don't live in Perth. Can I purchase from FishYak ?
| A: Yes ! We can take your order via phone, fax or e-mail and deliver your kayak or accessory
by road freight to almost anywhere in Australia. Accessory orders over $100.00 are sent post free ! We also have a free-to-call phone order hotline for
interstate customers and we accept most credit cards or payment via direct transfer into our account.
| Q: Do I need previous kayaking experience to paddle your kayaks ?
| A: Absolutely not ! The kayaks we sell are known as 'Sit On Top' kayaks.. this means you sit on
them instead of in them. No part of your body is constrained below the deck so novices don't feel intimidated by the feeling of being trapped, and our kayaks
are very stable so you'll have no trouble getting used to them quite quickly. You also don't need to be buillt like an athlete to enjoy them as some will carry
up to 270 kg !
| Q: What are the kayaks made from ? Do they need special care or maintenance ?
| A: The kayaks are roto-moulded from polyethylene.. a very tough but relatively light form
of plastic. Other than a good wash down with fresh water at the end of the day, they need no special maintenence. The plastic has UV inhibitors in it to
help prevent damage from continuous exposure to the sun. However, we do suggest you store your kayak under cover at home and for your own safety
we recommend that you do a thorough check of your kayak before a day's paddling.
| Q: What are some of the ways your kayaks can be used ?
| A: Recreational paddling, diving, as part of a personal fitness strategy, photography, on a
camping expedition, fun with the family and of course, fishing.
